Davosa Argonautic BG Automatic

A professional diver with onshore qualities

The new edition DAVOSA Argonautic BG Automatic unites form and function

The Argonautic collection has always been an essential part of DAVOSA’s diver’s watch portfolio. Just like Jason, the legendary Captain of the Argonauts, they are safe and reliable partners on dives that take you right down to 30 ATM – and back to the surface again.

With the new Argonautic BG Automatic, Swiss watch manufacturer DAVOSA brings you a professional diver’s watch with a helium escape valve, first-class luminous properties, a ceramic bezel inlay and rubber straps options.

Preserving what is tried and true

The Swiss Sellita SW 200-1 automatic movement in its screwed stainless steel case keeps perfect time on the way down. Scratch-resistant, anti-glare sapphire crystal guarantees a clear view of the tidily designed dial with its 15-minute scale on the bezel inlay to provide orientation in an emergency ascent. And thanks to the extension to the stainless steel strap with a safety clasp, the DAVOSA Argonautic BG Automatic can be easily worn on top of a wetsuit.

Brightest luminosity with Super-LumiNova BG W9

The state-of-the-art Super-LumiNova BG W9 luminous pigment ensures exceptional luminous properties. This material has been applied to the figures and hands, and now for the first time to the 15-minute scale and all the figures on the ceramic bezel. Under natural light, this best-in-class luminous pigment appears white; in the dark it shines brightly and clearly in clear blue.

Helium valve for controlled pressure equalisation

A helium escape valve protects the watch when ascending to the water’s surface. When underwater, helium can permeate any seal, but it cannot escape quickly enough from the case when resurfacing. The danger is that the glass can burst out of its case. However, thanks to a manual helium escape valve, a controlled equalisation of pressure inside the watch can be achieved when ascending to the surface. Moreover, the valve at 10 o’clock has been technically optimised and is now clearly identifiable thanks to the helium symbol on the crown face.

Latest technology where it counts

The crown at 3 o’clock is subject to considerable stress from being screwed open and shut. A diver must ensure it is properly closed before every dive, and this often occurs when the diver is already wearing gloves and under suboptimal climatic conditions. However, thanks to a new tube and crown construction, DAVOSA’s technicians have found a way to optimise the interaction of these components, thus guaranteeing an even longer lifespan.

Eye-catching, even onshore

Back to the surface and you will see the DAVOSA Argonautic BG Automatic also looks great on the wrist. Thanks to an elaborate furnace process, a sandy grey and a navy blue have been produced in high-tech ceramic in addition to the more classic black. The dials are coordinated with the bezel rings in colour as well as in their matt, slightly grainy texture.
