With the “Sixties” edition of the popular Ternos diving watch series, DAVOSA is reviving the zeitgeist of the 1960s. The Swiss manufacturer of high-quality mechanical watches not only focuses on the selection of the production materials and the design, but also on the wearing comfort of the watch in order to revive the era of carefree lightness and a longing for freedom in lifestyle and fashion.
The case of the Ternos Sixties, made entirely of corrosion-resistant 316L stainless steel, has the appearance of a lens and thus nestles perfectly on the wrist: the screwed back curves downwards by a few millimeters and hides the robust Swiss automatic movement DAV 3021. The face of the watch faces upwards protected by the curved glass characteristic of the 1960s. The unidirectional rotating aluminum bezel underlines the vintage character and is available in blue, black or burgundy.
Today, high-quality metal bracelets have almost unanimously screwed bracelet links, the screws of which are countersunk almost invisibly in the respective bracelet link. In the last century, visible rivets were also often used in functional watches, which can be easily recognized by the raised curves on the outside of the strap link. DAVOSA has given the Ternos Sixties a metal strap with exactly this look. The rivets on the lower links are still screwed for easy strap adjustment.
With a case diameter of only 40mm, the Ternos Sixties is based on the moderate case sizes of past decades. In spite of the curved glass and the diver’s bezel, it has a slim 12mm in height. This was achieved through a clever case construction, which scores with a case head weight including movement and dial of only 58g. With the metal bracelet, only 68g are added, because the 3mm thick links tapering from 20mm to 16mm are also reminiscent of the fashion of 70 years ago.
