The history of the DAVOSA Argonautic-range
The name Argonautic did not come about by accident. In Greek mythology, the Argo was the legendary ship belonging to the hero Jason, who set sail in her to find the Golden Fleece. His trusted companions and fellow adventurers were called the Argonauts. And this is exactly where the DAVOSA Argonautic picks up – on the principle of being a tough and reliable companion for every diver, water sports and outdoor aficionado. Since 2008, the Argonautic series accompanies us with several assortments of high-quality diving watches that meet professional demands and are also available at an affordable price. Highlights such as a bolt-on helium valve, a unidirectional rotating bezel and a water resistance of up to 330 meters have been on board since the birth.
Over the years, the series evolved steadily and was renewed by various collections at irregular intervals. For the 10th anniversary DAVOSA donated the Argonautic-range last year 2018 a very special collection consisting of two limited-edition bronze timepieces, which are very popular due to their wealth of detail and a very attractive price and are now almost sold out.
This year we introduced the second generation of the Lumis collection with our Argonautic Lumis T25. In addition to some other highlights, the Lumis variant is characterized by a permanent luminosity without external energy supply. This is due to borosilicate glass tubes filled with a tritium gas mixture. This characteristic feature already marked the first first generation in 2013. At the time, this innovation attracted a lot of attention during the Baselworld watch fair.
Today we would like to introduce you to the development and history of the Argonautic-range in a small gallery:
